The food was hot fresh and delicious, so much to choose from! And the desert- oh my gosh even though we did not have room left in our belly’s- we did not leave without having dessert. The service was amazing!!! Everyone we encountered treated us like we were there most important guest! I would probably go back just for the service even if the food wasn’t that great. Arlington must treat their employees well because the employees treat their guest like VIPs.
Great Location. Truly, the hotel needs to be shut down, updated, and reopened. Heavily perfumed hallways still couldn't mask the smell of urine. Peeling Paint. Carpet in room beaten down and dirty. Bathroom had no flat surface to put anything on. Found ample street parking, so didn't have to pay for parking. Maybe I was just in a bad section. The lobby was impressive. The potential is there, but the hotel needs help. There was a lot of construction during our visit, so I'm hopeful updates will be completed soon. I would love to come back in a few years and be pleasantly surprised.
This hotel was suggested so we went based on that and the intriguing history. Ken at the front desk was entertaining and nice. Walked into the room and found (1) stained carpet (big black spots), (2) K-cup on the floor, (3) several short, dark hairs in the sink, (4) an orange pill on bathroom floor, (5) back of a lapel pin on closet floor and (6) blowdryer did not work. We were placed in rooms away from the front of the hotel due to construction, which I appreciated but on day 2 we were awakened by hammers and saws. I opened the curtain and there were feet outside the window. They also charged for breakfast which was to be part of the package. Thankfully that got credited back. The area is fantastic and the history is fun to hear but I suggest staying somewhere else and just visiting the hotel.
The Arlington is an absolutely beautiful place, you can feel the history as you walk through the halls. This building is 100 years old, it of course is going to have it 's problems and considering it wasn 't thrown up in a week like a Holiday Inn this place is I 'm sure expensive to maintain, so give it some grace. Yes it is old, yes it smells musty because of the age but, if you appreciate history and can see the charm in it you 'll love it here. It 's not a Hilton, it 's not a Holiday Inn, it 's a historic building and if you 're looking for the best there is to offer and state of the art amenities, then go elsewhere. Again, if you love history and old charm then this will be the place for you. I love the old school doors, the fact that you still open it with a key, how deep the bathtubs are because they 're not made of cheap plastic like they are now, the molding on the walls and the black and white penny tile on the floors. If you take all of that out because it 's old then you no longer have The Arlington you have the same cookie cutter hotel you can find on every corner.
We stayed here thinking it would be cool to stay at an historic hotel and it definitely was! This grand hotel is beautiful and maintains the original feel. It's location is also excellent, right at the end of bath row and directly between the two sides of the national park!Rooms: 5/5
