Horseshoe Bay Resort

We spent the weekend participating in the Bronco Off Rodeo experience and requested an accessible room due to my amputation. Unfortunately, the room was quite small and difficult to navigate. During the rodeo, one of the guides mentioned that we’d have the best night’s sleep ever after the physical activity, but we didn’t find that to be true as the beds were uncomfortable. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant, while decent, was a bit pricey for what we ordered. We would like to give it another try in the future and explore more of the resort.

I do have one complaint: no one answered the phones—neither the front desk nor the restaurant. This happened before 9 PM. I found myself stuck in my room because my spouse was 'sleeping,' and I was trying to order room service. I eventually had to go downstairs. It might not seem like a huge issue, but isn't that one of the perks of staying at a nice resort? The same thing happened the next morning when I called the front desk with a question, and again, there was no answer.

My only disappointment was the state of the Slick golf course. While I understand that weather conditions are beyond anyone's control and there has been a summer-long drought, it seems that some of the other courses were better maintained, with green fairways. The Slick course was mostly brown and looked neglected, yet it was still quite pricey at $270. I hope it receives some natural rain soon, as it doesn't seem to be adequately watered.

The wife and I spend the weekend there. The room was clean, good size, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was great. We did the spa, and we both would recommend it. We went to the waterfront restaurant for lunch, the Lobster Mushi, were great. I had the Hawaiian checken. The J's Restaurant was good, a little pricey. The desert's were amazing. We hung out at the main pool, and it was great. We will be going back.

We stay here for three day weekend, in the Palm villas condos. The resort itself is lovely, well, manicured, condos for spacious and comfortable, but we were very disappointed with the options for kids activities. A pool at the condo complex was closed to any kids, the jungle gym was closed off to resort guest until 1 PM. So really, there was only a putt putt golf course and one main pool with no other water activities for kids. The marina complex is also closed off to resort guests and only available to members. Would not really recommend it for a family vacation.
