Captain's Coffee Roasting Co - Homer

I ordered a Breakfast Special on that day it was Reindeer Sausage, 2 eggs, home fries, and toast. The server took the wrong toy, order indicator. She took the orca, not the horse. Our order was the horse. They ran out of the special and did not remove it from the board or communicate to anyone that they were out of the special. Order arrives lukewarm after 45 minutes of waiting for the food to come out of the kitchen. The eggs were burnt, the toast was dry and chewy, also to top the breakfast the homefries were still raw, and the bacon was burnt. They refused to give our money back for the order we prepaid, that is how they operate. We also got a salty attitude from the staff who work there when we asked about our order. Will come back to Homer, but not to this place. Also the coffee is mediocre, the coffee should be good quality, it was not up to Alaskan standards of coffee.

I don't know how to express how awesome this place is, but i absolutely loved it! Music choice was on key, owner was lovely and accommodating, freshly roasted coffee beans were priced perfectly! Anytime I'm in Homer, this is the only place I'm getting coffee!

There is some great coffee to be had in Homer but not here. This coffeeshop appears to be a regular stop for local conservatives. The service was good, the offerings were fair but the lattes we had were regrettable. If you're not finicky about your caffeine and want a simple cup of Joe in a disposable, single use, paper cup, whether you're staying or going, then this is the place for you.

I asked for a triple shot iced Americano. I had to go back and asked if they put 3 shots in it because it tasted like a strong tea and not coffee; to which they kindly answered yes. The only other time I have had a coffee like this was at a Starbucks (I am not a fan of Starbucks coffee). I was wondering if they used a light roast, most people will use a medium roast, and/or the way they pulled the shot? Oh well. I'm not going back but I hope if the owners read this review they will consider the roast of their coffee and/or maybe how their employees are pulling the shot.

So I've been here twice now. FYI the bagged coffee you take home is AMAZING! The service was great! I've tried a panini, two muffins and smoothie too! The sandwhich was not good. I couldn't even eat it. It tasted weird, the muffins were good and the smoothies were okay. I am a big smoothie person. It is hard to find a real one. Most of the places around here use syrups for flavoring, and you can tell. Will come back for just coffee and muffins.
