Cafe Portofino - Hiawassee

Portofino is again open as Moondance. We enjoyed the burger, Cole slaw and chili, but their speciality for St. Paddy's Day was beef with potatoes and cabbage. Very good. atmosphere pleasant and clean. The owners also run Sundance in Hiawassee, so they know how to run restaurants well.

Café Portofino is a very clean restaurant. The waitress was brilliantly pleasant. I was there for this Taco Tuesday Special and it was very good. Unfortunately, I didn't read the menu at the time. I'll go back and try other things. They also have a full bar.

One side is very beautiful, other side is very casual. Perfect for any kind of outing. Excellent food and very nice staff. Has a bar and a stage for live music. The dining room is perfect for a chic dinner, but the bistro is good for casual family excursions. It feels like two different restaurants in one.

We decided to review it again after we heard all the great feedback from some friends regarding improvements. We're so glad we came back! Our food was amazing! We had a great waitress and our food came perfect! We had the best Chicken Piccata, remembered when we traveled to Italy for a summer. I recommend this place for every occasion big or small. We will definitely come back!

This is a tale of two cities...the bar side is very informal...taco night was crowded and service was slow. I was impressed with the bartender, she left the bar to wait on our table. The other side is a more formal dining room...very nice, real table cloths, etc. Service was very good and the food was great. We will try both sides again, the next time we are in Hiawassee.
