GOOD ube ice cream great, as a milkshake, as well, or in a rice krispy sando. i was sad they don't do the ube flan flavor anymore. but, that's it. BAD service just okay at the store. young lady not very helpful, knowledgeable, interested... pack selling i don't want 6 flandesals (which were terrible, btw...more to come). i also didn't want everything in the sampler pack or have to buy 4 flan ube cheesecakes. what's weird is i got a flinkle (flan filled ube crinkle) and there were packs of 3 shown, but i only received 1 cookie...that's confusing! flandesal ube pandesal with flan, is just not good. inedible. the pandesal was dry af and it didn't taste like ube. the flan filling didn't help either. and, i had to buy 6 of these. flan ube cheesecake this was too sweet and i have a major sweet tooth. the flan was probably the culprit because the ube cheesecake has a sour taste. on top of that, the crust is mushy. and, i had to buy 4 of these. the sampler only has 2 of each, plus cupcake, but i've had their cupcakes before and didn't like them. overall, just not for me. like i said, insta worthy, which doesn't always mean good (expectation vs reality). i'm very happy cafe 86 opened up 20 mins away...their ube, service, and single item purchase business model is far superior.
I was just here with Wednesday with my Kuya, this bakery place was actually recommended by my cousin. The Ube milkshake was super delicious and hopefully to come here more often once I move in and explore rest of East Bay of Hayward. The bakery will be my treat for East Bay vibes. I would try this place out.
Oh. My. Lord. If you have not tried the treats at Marleys, you are miss-ing out! I ordered the Ube Sampler, which comes with two of the following: Ube Flandesals, Ube Cupcakes, and Ube Cheesecakes. The flandesals are cookies as soft as clouds filled with creamy flan! The cupcakes are moist and ubey rich. The cheesecakes are ooey gooey goodness! I also ordered their FlaNana, which is flan mixed with banana pudding. Who in the world thought of this AND why didn't they think of this before?! If you are eating your banana pudding without flan, I'm here to tell you you're probably doing it wrong! BUT, the winner of this show was their Flan Stuffed Cookie. Their creamy flan sandwiched between their cloud-like cookie stole my heart! It's just that good! This place deserves a chef's kiss. Definitely making this my cheat day favorite!
I blame Yelp for enticing me to go to Marley's Treats. I also follow them on Instagram and the pictures are enough to have me drooling all over the floor if I look long enough! Yesterday was my first visit, and it was definitely drool worthy! The people are so nice. The shop is in a nice quiet part of downtown Hayward. Everything looked good. I knew I was going to share some of it but it was really difficult to decide. I ended up with an ube shake, ube cheescakes, and ube cookies. I love eating purple food for starters! Everything was so good. I love the flavor of ube, and it popped from every delicate morsel of my cheesecake and cookies. It was a hot day and the milkshake really hit the spot. Truly one of the tastiest milkshakes I have ever had. I cannot wait to go back!
Spotted their food truck at the Fremont Street Eats 2 weeks ago. We decided to give this a try. We ended up getting the ube cheesecake flan and flandesal. Flandesal (4/5) soft ube sweet bread filled with their house made leches flan. The bread was nice and fluffy but tasted sweet when you get to the middle. Ube Cheesecake Flan (4/5) ube cheesecake tart topped with their house made leches flan. The flan on top was sweet and thick. Another good dessert but it was sweet as well. I didn't like how you had to buy either a pack of 4 or 6 of their Ube Cheesecakes Flan and half dozen of their Ube Flandesal. Wished their food truck was selling the sampler pack that they offer from their main store in Hayward. I would prefer this.
