I felt like a Japanese food and happened on asa akeh. like other shops in food dishes, it is nothing to see. Oil cans and boxing are the front of the load. the young lady who took my order was very friendly and gave a smile. I chose the chicken katsu bento box (not the special version that comes with sushi) for the takeaway at $9.40 that included $0.60 extra for 2 x takeaway boxes. it came with a good size part of chicken katsu with salat, rice with sesame seeds, a crispy garnish, a gyoza and miso suppe in a foam cup with...read more
Service: 7/10 eating: huh karaage udon $9? 7/10 tempura udon $9? 7/10 eating is quite good and great for the worth. broth was not strong at all and at the right saltiness etc.
Esst for at least 8 years here! hands down, cheap and amazing Bento boxes, in sydney. I certainly recommend the katsu bento; that includes large portions, sushi, tempoura, mio and salat. the best of everything.

After living just around the corner for 3 months, I finally decided to visit Dixon House food court in Chinatown. I felt like having some Japanese food and happened upon Asa Akeh. Like other shops in the food court, it is nothing to look at. Oil cans and boxes litter the front of the store. The young lady taking my order was very friendly and readily gave a smile. I opted for the Chicken Katsu Bento Box (not the Special version which comes with sushi) for takeaway at $9.40 which included $0.60 extra for 2 x takeaway boxes. It came with a good size portion of Chicken Katsu with lettuce, rice with sesame seeds, one crispy prawn, one gyoza and miso soup in a foam cup with cling wrap covering it (very impressed with the packaging for carrying it home). I must say I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Very good size, even for a biggish eater. The chicken was ever so slightly over-fried but personally I like it this way. The rice was perfectly cooked however was a little cold within the 5 minutes it took me to walk home. The miso soup was still warm and just as good as any other, although I'm not the biggest fan of miso soup so am no expert. The gyoza and prawn were very tasty and the lettuce included with the Katsu was crispy and fresh. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I will most certainly be visiting Asa Akeh again in the near future.
