The Lighthouse Fish Chips - Hastings

The fish and chips at this restaurant were absolutely fantastic, the best I have ever had. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. I ordered the cod and fish cake, both of which were incredibly tasty. The chips were brilliant and the curry sauce was super flavorful.

A great Fish and chip shop. Be warned though it is takeaway only not sit down) and the fish and chips are cooked to order. John the proprietor knows what he is doing and the fish is superb quality and cooked to perfection. All in all a great fish and chips that deserves great success.

We live 10 mins away from this chipie but this was the first time we’d tried it as we usually go down to the seafront. We only had chips but they were perfect but what we loved most was the friendliness of the staff. We didn’t have cash so they let us come back the next day to pay. Also found out they do gluten free and it’s properly cooked separately. Ticks all the boxes. We need to support our fish and chips shops as they are struggling with the cost of electric and gas not to mention food prices. Lots have closed already (though not in Hastings so far).

It’s always hit and miss finding a decent chippy near the coast, we found this one as it was on our way back to our caravan site and had good reviews. Food was freshly cooked so had to wait 10 minutes but that’s a good thing, delicious chips and fish. Only gripe I had was parking was a bit difficult as it’s a busy road, but most of the other customers parked on double yellows outside and appeared to be normal for locals to do this. Very tasty food and polite friendly staff.

During a weekend trip to Hastings, my friend and I decided to try out a highly recommended restaurant, The Lighthouse, for dinner. We both ordered the fish burger and a side of small chips. The portion of chips was generous and they were deliciously fresh, with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The fish was also incredibly fresh and overall, we both agreed that it was the best fish and chips we have ever tasted. We wished we lived closer so we could dine there every weekend. The service was also excellent. Thank you very much, we will definitely be returning!
