And a cook, I think. The bar was busy but not the restaurant where only my friend and another couple sat. The waitress answered our questions and we placed our orders at noon. Simple sandwiches. We were finally served 45 minutes later! Luckily we’re both retired and not on a lunch hour. My friend’s French Dip was not very good , she reported. (The waitress did comp the sandwich which was very kind. . I ordered a grilled chicken breast sandwich—very good! I’d be reluctant to try a second time.
After the space that had previously been Depot Square Bistro closed and was reopened as Bogie’s my wife visited for lunch with a friend. My wife ordered a Caesar Salad- a common lunch order for her- and was served a salad that lacked both the cheese and the dressing that make a Caesar Salad a Caesar Salad. The owner ,who was acting as the chef promptly corrected the mistakes( he had made) after being informed by my wife. Our confidence in their competence was weakened and we haven’t been back. Perhaps that was a one time error in their early existence and hopefully wasn’t indicative.
We had the misfortune of having a retirement party catered by Bogies at their Amesbury location.. which is not even listed on Trip Advisor. Never in my life have I ever experienced such terrible catered food...nothing tasted as it should and several dishes were unrecognizable and inedible. I could not tell you about their Hampton location, but NEVER use this place for catering......
I have driven by this restaurant many times since it has opened and haven't had the chance to stop in. Their specials signage outside always advertises 1/2 price nachos and Maryland Blue Crabs which has always caught my eye. My fiance and I finally decided to try out this local bar/restaurant for our anniversary dinner. It's location is hidden behind the Hampton town square but has plenty of parking. We were greeted by the friendly bartenders and were told to choose a seat. It was quite empty when we walked in on a Saturday afternoon but filled up by the time we left. Their service was great; the waitresses treated us as friends and not like customers. We ordered quite a few drinks to celebrate and all of them were mixed perfectly. I think the Moscow Mule was possibly the best I have ever had. As for the food, it is good but not anything to rave about. We both ordered the Salmon BLTs but were told that the restaurant had run out of salmon because they order their seafood fresh. I think the seafood may be the best bet next time we dine-in. The buffalo chicken wrap was okay but the ingredients seemed cheap. For the amount we paid I expected a better quality when it came to the food. The atmosphere was very relaxing and although it is a smaller space, it didn't feel crowded at all. I think this will become our new local spot as our first impression was great.
