We initially just wanted a drink, but the atmosphere was very cosy and nice, so we decided to stay for lunch. We both had Chili con carne, which was very tasty, and they had a good selection of drinks. It was friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Came across by accident in Galeria off Gross Bleichen, and not far from Neuer Wall. The cafe has changed its name to Mazza Sushi More, but I don't know when that was. It is also actually two locations. The bar/cafe inside the Galeria passage, but also a small restaurant outside on a pontoon on the Bleichenfleet, a quiet backwater away from the bustle of the Binnenalster. The cafe inside is quite dark but seemed busy and atmospheric, but we chose the lunch outside on the pontoon. And a good experience it was too. Very welcoming, attentive and smiley staff. Blankets and overhead heaters were provided since it was a cool breeze on the day, but the sun was coming out. There is a full canopy over the top too to avoid rain or sun burn!! The menu was quite short and generally limited to sushi, fish, salads and similar, but good enough for lunch and feel like eating healthy!! We chose a prawn and avocado salad and also a Yakatori(? chicken and veg with sauce. Both were decent portions for lunch and both very tasty. With a couple of soft drinks, the bill was €27. Very fair for the middle of Hamburg. A very nice place for a quiet drink or lunch. It's worth giving it a try for lunch, at least. Probably good for an early tea too.
I came here for a quick lunch with a friend whilst in Hamburg and don't quite know what i think of this place. The interior is rather shabby for a bar but acceptable for a small cafe which i what i think this is better suited to be. I think it thinks it is much fancier than what it is. I felt like we got stared at quite a lot initially by staff and then primarily by other customers but maybe it's not a place many tourists go. It does make you feel slightly paranoid! Other than that, the food we got was lovely. We had the tomato soup which was tasty and served with a good sized portion of croutons and fresh bread. Price acceptable too. The menu also had a good selection of sandwiches and other lunch staples.
Randomly landed in the galeria at large bleach and near the new walls. caffe has changed its name in mazza - sushi
I work close to and like to come to the rich lunch table and a delicious coffee.
