Sam's Chowder House - Half Moon Bay

The Qiaoda soup is rich and delicious, the lobster burger is solid and delicious, the fried fish is plump and not wrapped in too much fried rice, and the other meals are also very good and worth a try. You can enjoy the sea view from the outdoor seats, and there are also stairs that lead directly to the beach. It is very convenient to go down to the beach after dinner. But there is no need to go to the beach because the scenery is not as beautiful as the view from the restaurant. There are a lot of seats in the restaurant, but it is still not enough to meet the demand. If you come to dine at noon on weekdays, it is hard to imagine that the food is so good. It can only be described as a busy place. No wonder the service staff are busy clearing and clearing the table (disguised to drive away diners). Look The many guests waiting to be seated could also understand his mood and hard work.

The chowder and the food was pretty salty. I was expecting the clam chowder to be amazing, but it wasn't exactly expected. I came here years before with my mom, and it's not what it used to be. The oyster Rockefeller was not that tasty. The calamari was a bit hard, and the scallops were slightly burnt. This place is missing the umami in their food. It was quite expensive as well. I paid $11 for a bowl of clam chowder!!

Food was good. Place was noisy until we got them to lower the volume. Service was good.

We love Sams. We venture off towards Halfmoon Bay to enjoy the food views. Try to go off peak hours, or expect to wait in long line. Chowder never disappoints. But today our fish and chips needed some flavoring an extra minute in the fryer.

One of the most disorganized, disrespectful and chaotic dining experiences I had. We were sat outside, the rain started, and instead of moving outdoor tables inside, the hosts kept seating newcomers while water was pooling in our mains.when we pointed this out, the servers just said there was nothing that could be done. I went inside and l o and behold, plenty of empty tables and only when I pointed this out were we moved inside. When we did, they left our food out for a good 15 minutes everything was soaked and cold by the time they finally brought it in (they failed to bring our beers in). They also got our order wrong initially. All this while dozens of servers were milling about. To top it all off, the ladies restroom had all of two stalls (one of which had a broken lock) and subsequently a huge queue. The food was mediocre and salty but what really topped it all was the rude and dismissive attitude of the servers who did nothing to make our experience enjoyable.
