Cooks Pie And Mash Shop - Hackney

I love pie and mash being born in London and usually have Manzes online delivery which is fantastic just as you would expect it to taste. I thought I would try Cooks and although great fast delivery the pies were awful the mince was pureed...like baby food and flavourless, the mash hadn't frozen well as the potatoes must be poor quality, the liquor was dark green and also flavourless so all in all my surprise meal for my son a disaster. I did email cooks and they have refunded of my totall order cost for the portains I haven't eaten and won't but no compensation for the we partially ate and the surprise ruined. You have to order at minimum of so you can't order a couple of potions to try so with delivery I'm on down in what was a disgusting version of pie and mash. Don't order online!

My wife and I discovered Cooks on youtube before coming to London and made it a priority for our trip. Service from the friendly was great and the atmosphere reflected the traditional and eclectic nature of working people's eating places worldwide. The pie, mash and...liquor were great, and I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth, sweet flavour of the jellied eel. A great experience and strongly recommended.

On the hottest day ever on record in London, my brother and I inexplicably opted for pie and mash for lunch. To be honest, it was hard to escape without eating when we stuck our noses into the shop and looked around. The owner was...most insistent we take a pew. I'm glad we did, because it was a hoot from start to finsh. If I'm brutally honest, I've had better pies and mash, but the surroundings and the entertainent made it really special. You should DEFINITELY go.

Pie and mash in London is legendary so we made the trip from central London. It’s about a walk from the Gherkin. We ordered two pie and mash and liquor as per recommendations. it looked lovely just as the picture here. I am sure...if you were brought up on this it must be lovely. Friendly, welcoming staff and a traditional premises but honestly it was horrible a meat pie with fish flavoured thin gravy on top, but all the locals tucking in around us were loving it!
