I love country towns and their quirky shops, but this one has missed the mark for me. I wouldn't say it's not worth stopping, maybe it is... it's certainly got potential. It looks neglected to me. It's dark inside and while it clearly had old world charm once... I would hazard a guess and say it's changed owners since then. I stopped to get a drink... initially wanted coffee but they don't do lactose free milk, so that was put behind me. So the town is quaint, there are a few things to look at in town... this store has potential to be something special...but it's not there yet. And then there's the question... who is Fergus?
Unfortunately I ate a sausage roll last weekend which did not taste quite rite. I quickly became ill and suffered symptoms for 5 days. This sausage roll was the only meal I consumed over the weekend that I didn’t share with my family, they have all remained healthy. My GP diagnosed food poisoning as the cause of my illness. I will raise this issue with the new owners, clearly their quality control is not yet functional. Please be cautious when consuming food from this establishment in the immediate future.
Coffee was to die for, the service was even better! I’d hire any of those girls in a heartbeat! I’m not a huge pie fan, but the homemade steak and pepper pie was great! And massive!!
