Don Jose Mexican - gton Beach

Unfortunately, I was shocked at the manager Sally's behavior tonight. We did linger 4 minutes past 9 pm, and I was literally the first singer for karaoke. I have been coming here 30 years for karaoke and dining. Everyone knows me! Everyone! Instead of waiting for my song to be over and speak to me privately and quietly in the hallway, Sally chose to approach the misses with my 2 year old baby aggressively while I was singing. The bill and our to go box were immediately delivered because we were preparing to leave. This is NOT how you treat someone who has spent 1/4 million dollars here over 3 decades who knows and understands the rules. After she humiliated us, we were in our caravan by 9:14. I told her the owners have sat with my family and kids till 11pm several times before. I know the rules and was in the process of going. She denied that they ever did so calling me a liar and then said well maybe back in the day. Yes, it was back in the day, Sally, but again, there is a right and wrong way to treat people. Maybe even be somewhat gentle and understanding of a regular of 30 years? Isn't that smart business? The food, servers, karaoke, and overall establishment is fantastic. I just really was so embarrassed I had to speak on it. Shame on your behavior and aggressiveness Sally!

Food was good salsa was especially good it wasa little noisy when we got there but they were full so it's par for the course Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of handicap parking right up front

This is not Mexican food, it's the kind of food you find at a burger shack that sells tacos too. Stuffed with iceberg lettuce and oversalted. Bartender barely cares enough to take our order. Tacos were good enough to finish but we couldn't finish the rice as it tastes like reheated Uncle Ben's. Chips and salsa filled us up thankfully. Lived in HB for a decade, was always curious, but once was enough.

Don Jose's in Huntington Beach is by far my most favorite stop for Mexican food anywhere. While it is about an hour and a half from our home, we have frequented this spot because of the amazing food, exceptional service and amazingly reasonable pricing. Patty has been our server several times and has always been pleasant to have! We have also never had to wait to eat here even on the weekend! The portions are also very generous I highly recommended this establishment. Vegetarian options: For my kosher and/or vegetarian friends, I have verified that Rodrigo's does not use lard or any form of animal fat to fry with nor do they use it in their beans or rice. Dietary restrictions: For my kosher friends, I have verified that Don Jose's does not use lard or any form of animal fat in their beans or rice.

This was one our favorite places. Today we left after watching other people get chips and salsa that came in after us. Even after taking our order they still didn't bring the chips and salsa. You have to understand that if we have to complain about this we don't want any of the food.
