We drove past and my partner said someone had mentioned The Radish was a good spot. (That was an understatement! The decor is charming, warm, and inviting. The staff was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. For dinner we decided to share an appetizer along with an entree. The crab cakes were phenomenal!!!! I'm relieved they served us an even number. We would have been arm wrestling over an odd one left! For our main dish we shared a deliciously tangy chicken/spinach pasta in a creamy lemon sauce. Yum!!! I would be remiss if I didn't mention the great veggies and the dinner rolls. The squash medley was perfect with the bits of asparagus and all was done al dente. The rolls were served with a yummy cinnamon butter. We will be telling everyone about The Radish!!!
Always wanted to try this restaurant. So we did. We had a party of five. No reservation. They accommodated our party. Interior of restaurant is remodeled. It's fine. Most seating is booth seating. We had two tables put together. We ordered steaks. Filet Mignon, New York Strip, Steak Deburgo. My niece ordered seafood pasta Alfredo. Steaks were very good quality and served perfectly. Pasta dish was excellent. Sides were Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. Both very good. Prices are a little steep, but that's not out of line for the quality. Wine list was poor. Woodbridge wine. We brought our own. Corkage fees are $15 per bottle. Friendly staff. We'll go back.
We have been several times and have not been disappointed until now. I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich, medium rare. it came well done. my husband had the prime rib sandwich that also came well done rather than medium rare. our friends both had chicken dishes and the chicken was very dry. not sure if there was a different chef on Monday night but it was not good.
The day before Valentine 's day we decided to sneak out and get in a fancy dinner. Forever we have heard good things about The Radish. So we even called ahead the prior night to make sure we could get in. They do not take reservations. So we made our way there. The tiny parking lot was full as we expected. We parked across the street and walked up and right in. The hostess sat us right away, there was no wait. We got tucked away in the high back booth. The waiter came around and was very pleasant. We had our questions, and he had his suggestions and what he liked. We were talked out the nightly special. He did talk up the steaks but then with our mind on something different the pasta was at the top of our list. We opted out of appetizers due to prices. I ordered the highly suggested Bella Pasta: Rigatoni pasta tossed with olive oil, burnt garlic, shitake mushrooms, peas, roasted red pepper and a pinch of reggiano cheese. The size of the meal was not overwhelming. The veggies outnumbered the pasta. It was very heavy oil, but cheesy and really tasty I got the side of the house green beans which where talked up. They were really crunchy and done perfect for me. My husband got Chicken Piccata: Boneless chicken breast dusted with flour, sauteed with capers, glazed with white wine and lemon. Sided with buttered fettuccine. I got to try this one. The lemon had a nice bite to it and a different takes with the capers. He got a side of broccoli. So his broccoli came out on the same size plate of my green beans. It was two slightly larger heads.... steamed I guess, and they were cold. He was not impressed with two pieces of broccoli as a side Overall: The food was okay for the price we were paying. The flavors were good and different. I think we were just all hyped about the experience. The staff was great and it did start to pick up as we were leaving, but I am glad we didn 't have to wait a long time to have a nice dinner. I am glad that Grimes has this local restaurant, but I am not sure if we will be a regular.
We went the beginning of August. we'd previously been here in April and it was great. awesome prime rib, great pasta, great staff. we went back to get primerib and the pasta. no prime rib, no blue cheese, no sun dried pasta, no new York straps. it might have been easier to say what they had. our server had to leave shortly after we ordered to get mozzarella cheese. wth is going on? food was average. the steaks were good, everyone else was disappointed. two weeks later they've changed the name of the restaurant. that probably explains a lot.
