You have your typical tex mex dishes, but there are also many authentic Mexican dishes, most are only available on weekends. Most of the standard items are house made as the fried beans and salsas and have a great taste that you are pressed hard to get at your typical TexMex location. The guacamole is also fresh and good. If you are in the mood for comfort food, check the sopas or pupusas. They're great with the cheese they use. I would definitely recommend any Mexican food fan.
My favorite mexican joint!. I could lick my plate each time I go. Read my reviews and you can see how picky I am. The food here is boss. I absolutely LOVE their chicken mole (yummmm), the sauce is just right and the chicken flavorful. The yellow rice is so tasty! and their refried beans also delicious. I could drink their salsa through a straw! And OMG the enchiladas! And the best thing are the prices, so reasonable!! In the taco crazy underway in Nola, this authentic little joint simply just puts the rest to shame.
The service was great. I ordered some rice, beans and stale. The stake was very juice and taste good. The rice and beans was ok too.
Seating was definitely fast, then came the drinks, and the food. Waiting for the food, was probably less than 20 minutes, and that was for a table of 5. Waitress definitely checked on us a few times.
Great value here! 6 ate for $96 with tip. The salsa temperature was warm. Slightly spicy and lightly salted with a smooth consistency. The chips were light. The queso was more like a bechemel. Still decent. The shrimp ceviche was very herbal with cilantro etc and properly salted. The shrimp taco was very good. The guacamole was standard fare. The plantains were fresh and good but the caseque (sp? was runny blah.
