We stumbled on this great place during the house hunting. The atmosphere is elevated, but the perfect date night is covered! Friendly and attentive service that was not rushed at all. We had perfectly mixed cocktails, beautiful salads and we enjoyed both delicious entrées I had the share the best I ever had and my husband really enjoyed the seafood Friicassee. We let the server talk us into the dark chocolate cream brûlée and did not regret it at all. The meal was a little more pricier than we usually spend on date night, but totally worth every penny. We'll be back!
My wife and I left the kids in the apartment and went for a date night. Not knowing the area, we've been relying on reviews and testing Borago. We were not disappointed. We came about 15 minutes before our reservation as we wanted to get a drink at the bar. The servers were very friendly and gave us some great cocktail recommendations. My wife had a Martini with a lemon boat Grapefruit-Chello. It was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet dinner. The food was absolutely wonderful. The salads were fresh and the ducks were excellent. I had the Scallops/shrimp fricassee. I would recommend it very much. Everything and everything, a great experience.
Good food. The food is always delicious. Disclaimer, they are stingy served on bread before the first course. They offer a small basket of bread, picture a basket about 6-7 inches long, with 6 tiny pieces of bread. The pieces of bread are about 2x3 inches in size and you get about 6 pieces in basket. We were a party of six, four adults and two older youths. They charge 5.00 for another small bread basket. The first basket is on them. We are not families on a budget, so not the 5.00. It is only from proportion and comes over a little unpleasant and sticky. Over the years we had always had a great experience to wait the waiting staff, some have been there for years. This year there was a young lady who served us. She'd just disappear. She finally appeared flushed out of the bar area and acted hyper. She gave us no eye contact after returning to our table, but began to grin uncontrollably?? We were just paying attention to her and her wear, because none of us were offered a second drink. The restaurant was about half capacity.
Wow! Another Grayton Beach winner, hidden right on 30a. We dined on the screened in porch and enjoyed a great meal. Our server was very friendly as well as knowledgable about the menu and the local brewery. We enjoyed an excellent meal, chicken piccata, angel hair pasta w/ pan seared shrimp, and a spicy Italian sausage dish that was just right. I'd agree with a previous reviewer that one might skip the Caesar salad, it's ok, but there are better choices on the menu, perhaps instead get an antipasto dish or two for the table. Save room for the dark chocolate creme brûlée, you'll be tempted to share it, don't!
