Hong Kong House - Grande Prairie

Don't let the location, and late hours scare you. This place was a good choice for a late night meal while working. We went in with 4 of us late in the evening and i was not expecting much but i was really suprised. Greeted as soon as we walked in by very friendly staff, and im guessing a family run business. The portions were large and the food was very good. The combo for 1 was more than enough, probably could of fed 2 people easily. The ginger beef was the most tender i have ever had, with a real fresh ginger taste.The Chow Mein was a little oily, but was still flavorful none the less.I will definitely return for the food, and especially for the awesome staff working!

I heard from friends that this place had tasty food and large portions. I ordered take out for one person at lunch. There were about 6-7 different combos for 1 person that I could chose from. Mine included spring roll, won ton soup and a dessert won ton. It was large enough that it lasted for 3 lunches. All for about $12. I look forward to going back again!

When I moved to GP, I realized only place open after midnight is McDonalds and 7/11. Even Tim Horton's close at 11pm! Then I discovered this place. the restaurant is open until 3am and the food is not bad. Portions are pretty generous, and price isn't over priced. I usually call the place and order combo meal for 1, and by the time I drive there, it's ready. My girlfriend had restricted diet, and they allow substitution without extra cost.

There must be a high turnover of staff at Hong Kong House. The food has become inconsistent and now seems to contain a lot of MSG.I can no longer eat a number of their dishes.Their delivery service has a few issues as well. The people taking the orders are missing items and then when you call back, you get called a liar, you never ordered that.With the rudeness and the inconsistency, I rate these guys a 1 now and will begin exploring other options for Chinese food here in my home town.

I love the serving sizes & the food is great, but I've been having nothing but issues with their staff lately.. I live 10km out of town (Clairmont) and although they advertise free delivery within 20km, apparently that's only within city limits (which is a chuckle, cause GP isn't even 20km wide in any direction).. It's extremely frustrating to have to argue with the staff whenever I phone just to place an order. They need to get it together.
