Przekaż informację zwrotnąI visited this restaurant with my wife and adult children on a return trip to NYC. The owner and his family have been running the place since the 1970s. The service was personalized, with free bread rolls (made from their own recipe) and water. There was plenty of interaction and helpful advice. The food was excellent, and when our favorite dessert was not available, the owner gave us a complimentary homemade tiramisu. The decor and service were old-fashioned, and we would definitely go back again.
It was a retirement dinner and the menu was set 3 types of salads, potatoes, pasta in tomato sauce, vegetables, chicken and roast beef. The salads were OK, as well as the potatoes. The vegetables were over cooked almost to mush. The chicken was swimming in a bath of liquid and chopped so that pieces were mostly unrecognizable. The worst was the beef chunks of meat swimming in a broth the meat was so tough it could not be cut a knife. Pasta totally forgettable. No buns, no dessert. This terrible meal was a base price of $30, and with tax and automatic tip (for a buffet! of 18%, it came to $40! I was told the tip was because there was no charge for the room. Although on a previous visit was told that there were higher menu prices in the banquet room to cover this. I will not go back. Terrible food and overpriced.
The service was welcoming and the staff were friendly. This restaurant is one of the few open in Sudbury on Monday nights, and it also hosts a trivia night for those who enjoy playing. We had a delicious meal and enjoyed a nice drink.
This restaurant stands out among most others for its extensive gluten-free options, allowing customers to order anything on the menu in a gluten-free version. This is a rare find in the restaurant industry! The staff is well-informed about gluten and cross-contamination issues, with a dedicated fryer solely for gluten-free items. I highly recommend this restaurant for those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, especially if you're in the Sudbury area. The only drawbacks are the limited downtown parking and the lack of weekend lunch service.
Hour Glass has the friendliest and courteous staff. The atmosphere in the restaurant is so relaxing and the food is so delicious. A
