Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Our last visit to the cracker barrel in Gonzales, LA was great. The staff was warm. Our waiter did an excellent job to make sure we had what we needed. The cookies are among the best. They were soft and fresh. The waiter brought a lot of jam as we had demanded. The food was very good. I had the Bratbeef that was delicious, the meat was very tender, no need for knives. My pages were potatoes, Cole Slav and baby carrots. My husband had the mother's breakfast, with which he was very satisfied as he likes fruit on his pancake. He's got berries. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is great. It has this vintage feeling to him that there is wonderful warmth... very like at home!

The biscuits are among the best. They were soft and fresh. The waiter brought plenty jam as we had requested. The food was very good. I had the roast beef, which was delicious, the meat was very tender, no need for knives. My sides were mashed potatoes, cole slaw and baby carrots...yummy! My husband had the mama's breakfast, which he was very happy with, as he likes fruit on top of his pancakes. So he got some berries. The servings are generous and the atmosphere is awesome. It has this vintage feeling to it that gives it wonderful warmth...very much like home!
