Located at the top of a mountain and the highest elevation restaurant in Canada, visitors have high expectations when dining here. The menu mainly features American classics, such as the Alberta beef burger with fries and the summit salad. I dined with a large group, so I also tried other items on the menu. While the food was good overall, I believe it could be more unique in terms of ingredients and style. My burger was tasty but a bit dry, and the salad was lacking in flavor. The quinoa salad was also underwhelming. The restaurant is a good place for a meal with a stunning view and memorable experience, but I suggest they update their menu to make it more exciting.
When you're paying $50 for an entree, you expect more. Our server, with tongue piercings and heavy eyeliner, showed no interest in her job and could not answer basic questions about the menu or drinks. We had to repeatedly ask for drink refills, and our appetizers were disappointing. The "beef cheeks" turned out to be a slab of fat, and the scallops were overcooked and drowned in seafood-flavored mayo. We were left without any vegetables with our entrees, and our steaks were served with butter knives. The server neglected to refill our wine and water glasses, and we were left waiting for our dessert for 20 minutes before giving up and leaving. Despite the disappointing experience, the dessert was not removed from our bill. Overall, dinner for two cost us $200, and I couldn't wait to leave. I hope they improve their service and quality soon. I recommend trying another restaurant halfway down the mountain for a better dining experience.
