We haven't been to other Thai restaurants before for comparison, but we were both very happy and would definitely recommend this place. The only thing at the moment is the restaurant looks out onto a huge building project, which might bother some people. This is only temporary though and doesn't take away the fact that Benjarong is very clean and nicely presented inside. Try it!
The food was incredible and so was the service! Would highly recommend.
We have been going regularly to Benjarong Thai for past 8 months. During that period, we have spent quite a lot of money. Food and service has been really good at least what we regularly ordered. We thought we had some connection friendly relations with the owner being regulars and sharing some banter and jokes. However, yesterday was a shocker when we commented on the food and the same dishes which wehave been regularly eating there for the past 8 months. When you are asked how your food is and you comment that it is not the same consistency as previously, then the right thing to do would be to first apologise, second say that we make up to you by redoing the dish or say how we can improve and still not spoil your dining experience. But the reaction from the owner surprised my wife and me. He was not having any of the criticism and became very aggressive, raising his voice and not willing to listen to what we were saying. To put simply, the reaction was go eat somewhere else if you don't like the food. Let's not forget thst we have ben eating Thai food in Thailand and elsewhere for almost 30 years so we have a good graspof the execution and quality of thai dishes. We are not novices of Thai cuisine. This insult is unacceptable especially as we have been regular customers. If the food is not up to quality, then it is the duty of the restaurant owner to improve. It looks like criticising the food quality is not tolerated, which is a shame as it will only affect the restaurant. Very disappointed that the owner took the feedback the wrong way and started arguing, raising his voice when a simple gesture including apology on we will improve and make you another dish would have helped to not spoil our dining experience. Taking a dismissive view and saying don't eat here if you don't like it is over the top response and not warranted. Very disappointing.
