We arrived after going to the movies approx Hardly anyone in restaurant and being pressured to finish up by staff coming over and sitting near us and lights turned off it was Left by Won't be back in any hurry. Steaks were...cooked pretty close to medium as ordered.
The name has changed from Outback Jacks back to Lone Star but disappointed to report the service has not improved at all. There was no lack of customers. We thought we were lucky to get a table till we saw where it...was! We were just two but we were placed in what must be the section for families with young kids. (Apparently that was all they had available Behind us was a family group with a young boy who only stopped screaming after at least an hour when it was time to leave! It never seemed to occur to his parents to take him outside so other diners could enjoy their meal. We quietly asked if we could be moved but the waiter said they had no other places. Even when the restaurant gradually emptied and places became available staff never offered a move. The long wait began. Firstly to have someone take drink orders then a much longer wait for food orders. They clearly don’t have enough staff. And those they have lack training. Drinks and meals were going to wrong tables frequently as staff just looked bewildered. They were pleasant and apologised for delays and errors but the errors kept coming. Our entrees came eventually but then nothing. Tables that had come after us got theirs. Eventually we asked a waiter and he returned a while later from the kitchen with the news we were expecting our order had been lost and had to be made again. When it did finally come at least all the little screamers had finished eating and gone home to bed! My husband’s ribs were nice tender and tasty with good chips and slaw. My meal was not so good. The steak was a bit more than medium. And the steamed vegetables was mostly carrots with zero seasoning or flavour. The salad that was supposed to accompany all steaks was missing as was the mushroom sauce I ordered. And in its place mashed potatoes which I loathe! The manager I think knew they had not done well and came over to ask how it was. When we told her she was apologetic and took a bit off the price. But we won’t be going back.
We'd been to the movies at Glendale so wandered over to Outback Jack's for dinner before heading home. As we were early we found a nearly deserted restaurant but by the time we left there were another dozen diners settled in. While the atmosphere seemed...gloomy the wait staff were very pleasant and our food was served promptly. My hamburger was quite delicious but my husband's expensive and huge serving of ribs was quite fatty certainly not the best we have ever been served. Thankfully we had a voucher from the Entertainment Book so we got a discount. I wish we would have seen the specals board when we entered the restaurant as we would have ordered from that.
The steak meals my wife and I ordered were almost inedible. The salad that came with it was just coleslaw from a woollies packet for sure. We ordered garlic bread as well and never even got that. The prices are the same as an expensive...restaurant, save your money and time and go somewhere decent. Everything was tasteless and tough. My wife left almost the whole meal, full of gristle.
