Café des Négociants - Genève

If you are in Geneva you should go to Carouge. And if you are in Carouge you should eat at Cafe des Negociants. We had a delicious meal on the terrasse. We started with the tomato and burrata salad and the tuna carpaccio both...were excellent. Then we had the tuna and the sea bream again delicious. We finished with some Roquefort. All with a very nice Genevan Aligote. Strongly recommended.

Very Good! New approach , new menu and, new chef! Far Better than before with a typical french bistro menu. You can have meals such as cuisse de grenouille and escargot! Very good desert (especially cafe Gourmand) and cheeses. Quite expensive but common for Geneva......Very well located in Carouge!

I booked a table for me and two friends on Saturday night. they reserved us a table outside and that was great. the menu had a large selection, but not too much that it was overwhelming. one of us ordered the escargots that were delicious. the other two of us ordered the seafood salad, which was once again excellent. we all had the steak for the main course and for the price we got a big part, in my view. the wine menu was great and had many choices. service was good when starting a little slow. a beautiful evening and highly recommended.

Today, for the first time since the lockdown, we eagerly back to one of our favorite and regular restaurants in genf. the lunch menu was, as usual, well composed and very good, and the social distancing was well maintained. but we were somewhat disappointed. the very moderate accent, and the lack of attention to us as customers, it seemed that those who serve the table were more interested in talking between themselves, instead of responding to our signals for service and payment. Unfortunately, we have concluded that half a fully equipped restaurant got only halfway service. Due to a reduction of the clientele and perhaps less stress in the kitchen, this could be a good start for the cook to come and meet its lunchtime customers for a change. maybe in the future.

We came here because of the positive assessments at ta and we were not disappointed. the restaurant is located in a beautiful residential area. the surroundings of the restaurant is very cozy and relaxing. we came to a Wednesday night and the restaurant was full....We had an salat, suppe, escargot, meerrote foie grass and steak. the food was beautiful. excellent presentation and delicious. also the service was excellent. highly recommended.
