This is an institution in the north of Geelong. Has been frequented by State Premiers as well as sporting greats over the last 40 odd years. Tradies on there way to melbourne stop for great coffee and breakfast options. Parking area full every work day. Even offers a drive through. Try the Egg, Bacon and Cheese roll or the famous Savoy Jaffle.
This take away appears to rate ok so I decided to give it a try. I wanted a burger with the lot and sometimes these 'older' places do a good job. This one was disappointing. On the good side, lots of handy parking, variety of take away food, all quite cheap and tables to sit at if you want.On the not so good side, my burger was not cooked fresh, but taken from a bunch that were ready made and sitting in the Food warmer. This was a worry as there was no telling how long they were there for, but they did look ok.The burger itself was salty and just very ordinary. I got through about half and just didn't want to eat the rest, so it went to the bin.I think if they made them fresh like a regular take away, it might have been better, but this place is not for people who like a fresh tasting burger. Still, it was only $8 so what do you expect...Sorry guys, but I will try another burger joint next time.
A good place to stop if you are on the run and need something to eat . It has been a stop for the truck drivers for many years they make and sell all sorts of take away food or you can take your time and sit and eat and read the news papers.
The food is good ,prices are good and Good service, friendly staff ,if your looking for a good breakfast first up this is it beats motel food .
