Ordered one latte one tea and toasted tea cake for which we waited 20 minutes. Coffee was fine, tea was lukewarm and the tea cake was hard and dry. We complained and sent teacake back but didn't even receive an apology. Won't be returning.
4 of us just been to little coffee house, using Groupon deal. we all considered it to be excellent value, freshly made sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and a variety of cakes. staff (owner), very friendly and accommodating, offering top-ups for teas, coffees and food items. would not hesitate to return.
We visited after being recommended by a friend, we however will not be recommending. We attended with my 2 1/2 year old and we all left with a bitter taste in our mouths and this wasn’t just the coffee. The lack of food options for children was just the start of our disappointing visit. We ordered two paninis and a toasted sandwich with 2 drinks and 2 sides of chips, costing a total of over £25 which given the contents of the sandwiches we found appalling. The chilli chicken panini had 6 small peices of ready cooked watery rubbery chicken in, the bacon Brie and cranberry might of well just been a jam sandwich with one piece of bacon broken into bits and minimal amount of Brie. The side salads had lettuce which was old and brown at the edges, and over ripe /borderline rotten tomatoes on and a grate of carrot, the side portion of 15 chips was also very disappointing for the price we paid. My daughter appeared to enjoy the small amount of tuna toastie that she had however when we finnished hers off, the tuna had a chemical taste to it. Very unimpressed!!! We felt so uncomfortable during our visit as there hardly any other customers, we felt we couldn’t complain in person, we just ate our food and left. We will not be back and won’t be recommending to anyone else 0/10.
No warm welcome, in fact miserable staff as though it was a problem having customers, even though only 2 tables used. Food brought quite promptly and was acceptable. Requested cold water to cool a baby’s bottle which was warm so had to return to counter and ask for cold water again staff not happy. Later asked for small amount of boiled water to soak cotton wool to use on baby’s eye to be disguarded after soaked and used once due to cross infection as anyone would realise. Approached and asked for water back as staff member “been told off for giving you this in a cup”. Therefore no hot water. Owner came much later explained health and hygiene/trading standards laws so couldn’t give in a cup. Actually I say explained it was more a telling off/talked down to us/big attitude problem which I have encountered on numerous occasions before. Customer service/attitude very poor management more interested in talking ‘new colours’ to another client rather than addressing us first rather than her member of staff. Put up with bad attitude many times and will grace Marks and Spencer’s or Mothercare in future fir friendly service and attitude to customers.
