Was going to pass over this one as pho chain/franchise seems to have problem maintaining quality over time. Their online menu shows very reasonable prices so what the heck, can't hurt to try. Somehow my GPS brought me into residential area, 1 block short of the actual physical location. Place seemed quiet with a couple of occupied tables. Decor was minimal and not overwhelming. Bit strange to display pantry contents out in the entrance display cases. I was seated fairly quickly and drink order taken while I peruse the menu. They have a fairly expansive menu while not covering every possible Vietnamese choices but will keep you busy for months if you tried a different items for each visit. I had the pho with filet and extra meatballs. It arrived within minutes piping hot with the beefy aroma steam filled with the thinly sliced onions/scallions calling to you to hurry up and dig in. After properly dressing out the bowl with mung bean sprouts and jalapeno slices, shredded the cilantros and basils, a quick squeeze of lime to top it all off, a quick stir of the chop sticks, I slurped the first spoonful of the broth. Very full beef flavor with a very light trace of anise and cinnamon. You definitely get a beef tallowy finish at the very end attesting the broth was made from the beef bones. The fresh noodles were amply filled and perfectly cooked. The meat portions were well represented and goes great by it self or with the hoisin/sarachi dippings that you mix yourself. On my subsequent visit,I tried the rice noodle version of the bun bo Hue which basically is pho noodle/garnish using the spicy bun bo Hue broth. The broth was wonderfully rich with definite note of mam ruoc added. It was so perfectly seasoned that no adjustments was needed. It would have been killer to have some fresh split rau muong on the side to add to!!! What can I say, I came for pho... and stayed for what they all have to offer. Can't wait to traverse the egg noodle, vermicelli variants. A little bit off the mallsy beaten path, but well worth it.
