We'd been a number of times for tastings and even did the tour, but this time it was simply light lunch and a wine tasting. A glass of the Rosato Metodo Classico to while away the time whilst we waited for the lunch and the tasting. The Gran Tagliere was generous, with four crostini with vegetables and chicken liver patè, three types of pecorino, honey produced on the Meleto estate and meats from their own pigs. The tasting was conducted at a good pace with good knowledge and good discussion always a great addition to a tasting. The two staff we met were very helpful, chatty and nice both were quite new but you would not have known from their competence. Thank you we'll be back again this holiday (although I think I've already bought enough wine!
We really enjoyed our wine tasting here. The food was good. No complaints! A great place for couples.
We purchased 3 tours on our Tuscan adventure as a grouping, and this was the first of our tours. No complaints, but it was pretty average compared to the other two. We received 3 glasses of wine each, and a plate with bread and olive oil. The olive oil and wines were from the Castello, the grounds were beautifully kept and there was a nice view of the Tuscan countryside. Sara was our hostess and was knowledgeable about the wines. We opted not to pay extra money to tour the castle, but we did hear from other tourists that it would have been worth our while.
