Like the dishes used from finished appetizers. I'll say it wasn't busy, 4 tables including our and two intoxicated older ladies in the sushi bar. The Saki must have been good. The waitress was annoyed because I had asked her to repeat after she messed up something about cutlery. A male waiter came to say clearly what the waitress said. I asked if I needed a fork when I worked with Chiopsticks. I'm a little hard to hear. Excuse me for a disability you can't see. The food looked good when it arrived. Actually, it was mediocre. Not well seasoned, the steamed rice on my beef tariyaki box tasted a bit like mold. The veggie tempura was soooo greasy it dripping everywhere and literally fell on the chiffel, and made a huge mess when you try to eat it with your hands. The sushi on the other side was well prepared and was the only reason why they got a 2 star rating. I think they need to train the waiters to be customer-oriented and actually check on customers during their meal. The chefs should know more oil is not better when it comes to cooking, especially tempoura. Think of light and airy batteries not loose and drippy and limp.. When I go with my family and spend my hard-earned money for food. I expect it to be good, I expect a promot FRIENDLY service. I understand being busy and that slows things down, but it wasn't the case here. So no excuse for the bad service. And if a waitress has a bad day, don't blame the customer. We didn't make it. I hope you have a better experience than me.
Overall, this place is really good and has a cool atmosphere. There are some places in Fresno and Clovis that are a little better. The banishment of the utensils at the beginning was loud above the tip. My ear rang all night when I came home. Apart from that, I would say that the experience was quite funny. We all had a good meal and a great time.
Great place for a good food, great service and great atmosphere, love teppanyaki!!!
I brought my sister to the law to try Sushi for the first time in California, we both went to Wasabi for all the hype we had heard. The food tasted ok. not tasted good, only barely average. During the last bite I look at the sushi I see a hair. Absolutely horrified and disgusted. I know it's not my hair because it was cured in the role as if the cook specifically took the hair from his scalp to put it in the role. Unless you want hairy sushi, run! Luckily the waitress took this role off the bill. My first and last time.
Let me start this review by saying, We go to Wasabi on fire and have Teppanyaki for pretty much every birthday in our family. Therefore In March 2022 we did the same for my oldest daughter?s birthday. We normally have great service and great food. This time was different. Our veggies were note cooked, rice was cooked for less than 5 minutes, and my steak looked like it was boiled (not seared). My son ordered the salmon with lemon butter sauce. The chef covered the salmon with so much garlic, lemon, teriyaki and butter you could not see the piece of fish. When he placed the fish on my sons plate, the butter was not melted. There was so much garlic powder used, it felt like I was eating sand and so much oil it pooled in the bottom of my plate like soup. I could not finish my meal, let alone take home leftovers. Our chef arrived about ten minutes after the chef at the neighboring table and was finished with our food about ten minutes before the neighboring tables chef. I spoke to the supervisor and after he saw our food, he applied a discount. But still spent well over $200 for terrible food and service. From now on I will take my business elsewhere.
