The Alcan Cafe - Frenchtown

Not many places are open for lunch on a Sunday on this stretch of highway 90, but the Alcan Bar Grill was right there when we stopped for gas. The outdoor deck where we sat is clean and dog friendly, the service was excellent and we enjoyed our food. The inside is definitely a bar atmosphere, but the sign outside says family friendly . The only negative is that there is a strong odor of cigarette ashes whenever the outside trash can is opened.

The best chips and salsa in Montana bar none! The bartender was friendly and attentive to our every need. I wished I had asked their name. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful view eating chips and as enjoying exquisitely made cocktails. Looking forward to perusing the rest of the the menu one day! 10 stars

Gem of a diner right outside of Missoula. We had breakfast here...the biscuits and gravy, and the eggs and meat (with toast and hash browns). Definitely a locals joint. Very reasonably priced and huge portions.

Stopped here for breakfast... so good, hot food, very clean. Great prices. Friendly service. Will definitely be back!

I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. It was delicious! Sesame seed bun, fresh lettuce tomato onions pickles, the works. The meat is local and I mean, from the Montana ranch down the road, local. Our server, Kelsey, was sweet, courteous and efficient. Mine came with the choice of a salad, french fries or tater tots. I chose a salad. Great bleu cheese dressing and fresh ingredients in the salad! They have a friendly local atmosphere.
