DELICIOUS! It doesn't matter what protein you crave as long as it's creation was made by the chef's at this establishment. Their style of cooking entails a lot flavor and heat which makes you want to eat more of it. If your like me always looking to fulfill your palet with great eats I highly suggest you try this place!!
Super empty when I walked in Tuesday for lunch. Tried their mini sliced lamb dry pot special with the fish gluten (fish balls) with bok choy. Sliced Lamb I started digging at the dry pot so eagerly I forgot to take a photo but I am super pleased! The flavoring is spicy and numbing as expected. I used to frequent a spot in SoCal that tasted like this that was BUSTLING, so I was surprised that it was so empty. Fish gluten with cabbage could have been named better but it 's not bland, super fat fish balls you 're used to.... It was a good complement to the spicy and oily spicy dry pot. Tea was served with the meal and soup was given to me and BF even though we ordered just one spicy pot special. I am gonna try and come here more often. I thought I had to go all the way to SF to get smaller sized dry pot. Which by the way serves 2 comfortably :P
Take these reviews with a grain of salt including mine. The food and service was fantastic and if you go for the lunch special the value for money is superb. The sliced lamb with onions and green onions at medium spice was just what we were looking for along with the fish gluten as a bit of a sampler. Would definitely recommend and return to eat here.
Was in the mood for some spicy, authentic Chinese fry pot and was lucky to find General Pot while waiting for my other takeout order next door. They have a pretty extensive menu and I thought their lunch specials was a good price: $14.99 for a mini pot with rice and soup. I ended up ordering the beef dry pot, shrimp dry pot, and a tofu with veggie dry pot to go (about $48 before tip). When I went home and opened up the order, I was surprised to see the dishes were all massive. The flavors were great and not too oily. I liked that they included a good variety of veggies with each dish and that they also deveined the shrimp, which is not common for many Asian restaurants. Unfortunately, half way through the meal I found a long piece of hair in one of the dishes and that was a little off putting. This made me question the cleanliness of the restaurant and their quality control. If I was in person and had this experience, I would've definitely pointed it out to the staff. We did not finish the dish and tossed it out. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this experience. I still would like to go back to try other dishes but I am also skeptical of their overall cleanliness.
