Eden Rock Resort Florence

We enjoyed gorgeous panoramic views of the Tuscan hills and winding roads, delicious breakfast by the pool, warm hospitality, and the incredible silence of the countryside. It's just a short drive from the city, and an incredible escape!

Eden Rock Resort is a 4.5+ star facility that can easily be justified for rounding up to 5 stars on the basis of the awesome customer service, and for the simply amazing views from above Florence, as well as the surrounding hills and countryside. This location was originally used as a military lookout . . . which should provide a good sense of the nature of the panoramic views of Florence that are available from this perch. It was purchased by an Italian race driver (in the 1930s, I believe), who built a restaurant on the location. The restaurant was then purchased by the current owners (approximately 20 years ago) who took almost 15 years to construct the Eden Rock Resort, and it has been open for only about the last 5 years or so. The customer service provided by Daniele, Walter, and Rocco during our stay (and with the booking) was outstanding and 5 stars in every way. Each of them went out of their way to be welcoming, friendly, helpful, fun, insightful about attractions, events, restaurants, museums, etc. During our stay we attempted to take in as much of the Florentine culture as possible, and decided that we would use public transportation to the greatest extent that we could. While the Eden Rock Resort is located on a city bus line (ATAF), the nearest bus stop for trips into the city in the morning was best reached by a short 3 minute car drive (due to safety concerns for walking the steep narrow road with fast moving traffic) . . . However, Daniele or Walter were always available on a few minute 's notice to give us a quick ride to the bus stop. When was the last time the customer service you received included a personal ride to the nearest public transportation stop? As I said, the customer service was 5 stars in every sense. I would recommend a 'Panoramica ' Suite to ensure that you receive a room situated so as to take the greatest advantage possible of the incredible views. For our visit in March (earlier than peak season) we received 7 nights for the price of 5, so be sure to check their website for special rates when you book. Our modern and stylish Italian suite included a comfortable queen size bed, with a separate main room with kitchenette, dining table with seating for 4, very comfortable L-shaped sectional foldout sofa bed, with 3 large windows, plus sliding glass doors leading to a long balcony with a small outdoor table for 2. Amenities included Wi-Fi, 2 TVs with satellite, espresso machine, and excellent climate control, . . . although sleeping with windows open was also quite comfortable, weather permitting.
