They also have house made sushi and a hibachi area where you can pick out what you want and they cook it up for you. The price is extremely reasonable too.
I travel the midwest for a living. I frequent asian buffets. This one in Plainfield could be better. Decor and atmosphere are good and the buffet is large itself. The food is average at best. I visited at 6pm on a Friday night. The food was mostly dried out and tough to chew. I was disapponted upon tasting most of the dishes. Mostly chicken served several ways. This place Could be better and probably was at one time.
For a Chinese food restaurant, the food is fabulous! The Hibachi grill is definitely something to try! So good! I don't think you can beat this place for Chinese food, Any where in the city!
Everything was fine until they started adding tips to your receipt.
Honestly not worth the price in my opinion. When I go to a Chinese buffet there are a couple things I anticipate; okay food, horrible restrooms and cheap food. Fu Yuan met two of the expectations.Let's talk about the price. For a Chinese buffet, they are EXPENSIVE. At $15.89 a plate and $2.35 per drink $18.24 a person before tax and tip), they are not cheap. That about what I expect for a restaurant with table service. Not a buffet. Especially not for the quality of the food. They also put our tip on tab. Which I don't really understand since this isn't the kind of place you really receive service. Our table was bussed as we were leaving and we each got a single refill. I don't mind tipping but usually you tip for service. The food was okay. It wasn't terrible but it also wasn't great. Some of the dishes were fresh like orange chicken and pizza. While other dishes had gone noticeably stale like the rice, noodles and sweet and sour pork. Their ice cream is self scoop which is a pleasant change from most places but also concerning if you think about it.The restrooms are awful. The doors are tore up. The hand soap was watered down and the hand dryers don't work. Not to mention half of the lights were out.So, if you really want Chinese food, you should probably go up the road to Panda express. You can get a family deal for $30 instead of spending $110 for 5 people.
