Fenwick has changed. The uber-wealthy are slowly taking over. Small plate places, fancy pants places, boutique hotels popping up. TW's is a welcome respite from that nonsense. Nestled in the quaint Fenwick village. Close enough to coastal highway to hear the traffic and close enough to the go-cart track to smell the fuel. It feels like Fenwick of old. You can go in bare feet and not get a second look. Efficient service and tasty food. They do a brisk business. The people filing in and out of the ordering area remind me of the old DQ and Oceanside. The bar on the opposite side is good collection of locals, super friendly bartenders and good taps. When in town for a handful of days, we always hit up TW. You should, too.
All day it was threatening to rain so we skipped the beach and rode up to Fenwick for a hot dog. It was gloomy and overcast as it had been since the previous evening, but we opted to sit outside facing the canal anyway. Michael kindly set up a table for us and for another couple as well. No sooner had we sat down when here came the rain. So we rushed inside to eat. I swear this was the biggest hotdog I had ever seen and it was very tasty. My husband and I got a basket of fries to share, but we really could have done without that and just enjoyed the homemade chips that come with the dog. Not that the fries weren't good they were they were just way too much for the two of us. Fenwick Village isn't much of a village as far as I could tell. Most of the shops/restaurants were closed. Twilley's has a comfortable, local feel to it. I wish the weather had permitted us to sit outside as we had hoped.
Food , drinks and service were fantastic! I had the Baltimore dog....yum! Place was clean and I will return!
Quailty of the food that comes out of the kitchen is adequate, after all it's primarily a glorified hot dog stand with a bar. It's annoying that they continue to serve the draft beer in these undersized (12oz's cups and yet still charge the same pre-Covid prices for them. Servers sometimes need a good scrubbing and a shave.
