South Street Standard - Exeter

The South St Standard is an import from Bristol, where the original restaurant began, and built on its success enjoyable food and a wonderful, independent spirit into the Exeter Food scene. Whether steak, burger or vegan options, they have covered you with a variety of delicious menu at a reasonable price point. We really love their Mac n cheese, and their chocolate brownies are dying. Desserts are homemade, cocktails are plentiful and if you just want a coffee? Sure they covered you. Perfect central meeting place for lunch or a meal in the evening.

Visit Exeter and from here considered a fast coffee and tranquility. Fabulous female barista who served me and was very welcoming, friendly and took the time to talk. Sat outside overlooking the cathedral. Great view and tranquility while away from the lively high street.

The food is so good here and they serve great cocktails, everything is really good at price. The staff is always helpful and the service is fast. The menu is not massive (although there is a lot), but is very diverse and will meet most taste and nutrition requirements. Portions are very generous, so don't overdo it. Will definitely be back. Recommend something with the Mac n Cheese Fritters!

Fabulous fishcake and Mac n fries with pulled pork, so much I couldn't eat all my, but so delicious I brought the rest home. It was a really chilled atmosphere there, the staff was really friendly. Food quickly arrived and piping hot. Great view of the cathedral to top it all from

Really good Sunday roast for only £10! Quality roast potatoes, soft on the inside, crisp on the outside. Plenty of good beef, nice veg and a Yorkshire, you won't be disappointed. Unless that is, you have the diet cola. Don't know what brand it is (not Coke) but it's bad, almost medicinal tasting.
