It was a very, very dark roast, which is not my preference, but it didn't have that burnt taste, it was just very bitter. It wasn't very Mexican, I didn't really taste any cayenne or other spices that would give it heat. I'm used to a more balanced flavor profile, I like my lattes a bit sweeter than this, but it was a pretty well crafted brew. There was no latte art which disappoints me a little when I get a cup in house, but I don't knock points off for it either.
We forgot our wallets but they worked with us to figure out a way to pay them, (ended going with manual card entry). The drinks are legendary, so delicious, and they gave our kids free cocoa on the cold day we came in. We aren’t in Everett very often, but we won’t be getting coffee anywhere else when we come to town. Kid-friendliness: Give free cocoas to our kids on a cold day.
I randomly decided to check out Makario because it was a new spot (to me) and near where I live. I tried their Mexican Mocha, and it was absolutely delicious! Usually when I try espresso drinks they end up being too bitter for my liking but this was the perfect blend of sweetness with nice strong coffee flavor. I also tried one of their bagel sandwiches with cheese, lettuce tomato and sauce. It had apples as well, which added a nice freshness and an unexpected crunch and tang from the apple that brought the sandwich to another level. Definitely a spot to check out in the area!!
The Einspenner is so delicious...and parking is free for 90 minutes in front of the store, so be sure to come and try it in Everett.
I live in Marysville, and haven’t had a good latte in a while. I doordashed from Cafe Makario and was blown away! The Cafe Luau is made up of espresso, orange, oat milk, honey, and sea salt whipped cream. The homemade whip was to DIE for. The coffee tasted super high quality, and was a perfect blend of strong coffee flavor, creaminess, and sweetness that is not overpowering. I wasn’t expecting anything crazy from the bulgogi panini, but it also exceeded my expectations. It was a large size and the meat was cooked perfectly. There was a perfect amount of cheese. What a great breakfast! I will definitely be checking this place out in person when I crave a solid coffee.
