This meal was by far the worst fish and chips I have ever had. I wouldn’t even give it a star. I recommend avoiding this Morrisons and opting for a proper fish and chip shop instead.
I've visited this Morrisons many times, but I only recently tried the cafe. I was pleased to see a promotion: when you order any adult meal over £6.99, kids eat for free! Both meals we ordered were cooked well and without any issues. Unfortunately, most of the staff seemed either unhelpful or disinterested in their work. For instance, when I requested a high chair, one of the staff members just pointed and mumbled something like, "It's over there." On a positive note, the baby changing toilet was very spacious, allowing room for a stroller as well. However, it could use some updating, as the large seat looked quite dirty.
I went there for breakfast and found it to be quite expensive. Some items listed on the breakfast menu were missing. Additionally, the person at the register seemed to be unaware of the prices and menu items.
On the menu they had full English breakfast but I got to the till they said they stop serving breakfast at 2 pm so why do they have it on the menu then if they stop serving the all day breakfast at 2 pm I will not be eating here again !!!
Up until now Ilkeston Morrison's cafe has been high on my list for a good and quick breakfast. I haven't been for a few months but called in for breakfast today and was quite disappointed. Firstly I had to rummage through the cutlery to find clean looking knife and fork and when the food arrived it was luke warm and definitely not what it was in the past. I know it is a simple supermarket cafe and not a restaurant but, to me it has definitely slipped and with all the very good rural cafes that have sprung up in the area recently a decline in standards is unexpected
