The Village Pantry - England

Avoid this café at all costs – the service was terrible, the staff were unprofessional, and it was a complete disappointment. I arrived at 9:30 am and still had not received any food by 10:55 am. I decided to ask for my money back and leave. Despite being told my order would be ready shortly, I watched as other customers who arrived after me were served before me. The coffee was awful, with lumps of milk floating around the cup, making it undrinkable. The staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving customers. After waiting for 1.5 hours, with no drinks offered and no sign of our food being cooked, I had enough and demanded a refund before leaving. The lack of customer service skills and blatant favoritism towards certain customers was appalling. I have never experienced such poor service in all my years of dining out. I will not be returning, and I will be warning all my friends to steer clear of this place.

I was greeted by friendly staff. I had the all-day breakfast and it was great. They allowed me to swap a sausage for mushrooms, which was very accommodating. However, the downside was that the tables were dirty. The table had not been wiped and looked grubby. A server came by, but it was clear she had not washed her hands. None of them had, actually.

I had a wonderful experience at the village hall, as always. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and I have tried almost everything on the menu, all of which I would rate a 5 out of 5. The food is excellently prepared and the staff do a fantastic job.
