The owner was really nice, and helpful in helping us decide what to order by asking what sort of curries we liked. We struggled to narrow it down and just wanted to eat everything, but were really pleased with everything that we ordered. The staff were very nice and the quality and the taste of the food was impeccable! Would highly recommend this place for anyone staying in El Nido!
Bad food! Yuck! Not good! Not at all Indian taste. It's actually a revenge from food! Updated The owner has guts to come back and say that I completed two dishes and write an essay about how our review is not upto the mark. First, we ordered four samosas and it was good. Hence, we ate it. Then because we were really hungry and had seen a lot of reviews from other folks around we ordered a Paneer Dopiaza plus a naan and a biryani. Below are the problems with the dishes: 1. Paneer Dopiaza: who in the world would make that sweet? 2. Biryani: raw vegetables.. seriously? Have had food in many places outside India but never saw someone doing that with a biryani. Please visit Hyderabad (the Mecca of Biryani's of the world to have one before you claim to make a biryani) 3. We finished only Samosas. The curry and biryani we left half because we couldn't eat that. We went to another restaurant to order something else and have it. 4. Your response of not improving only shows how arrogant the owner is. 5. Whatever we ate, we had to eat because we paid 1200 bucks for that meal Lastly, you might have imported spices from India, but that's not enough, you must know which spice goes in which dish. And for your information, I have lived in all the parts of India (including metro and tier 1 cities), so I don't need to be explained the Indian taste. Thanks. update Hotel Ashoka is actually serving authentic indian food. The place is not chic but they serve good food. We had 4 meals there. Also, the host is super friendly.
Loved the food here! Zac the owner is super friendly. They were in the middle of a power shortage when he convinced us to get take away but lo and behold the power was back! And we had delicious food and great service for a decent price Possibly the only rice in the Philippines that wasn't sticky!
Really really really good indian food. And I love Indian food. Amazing! But be sure to know how spicy you like your food cant fault!
We ordered the chili and garlic curry with mix veggies and paneer. 2/3 spicy level. Amazing food. We felt as though it was a little expensive and small, as you only get either rice OR naan and when we ordered extra naan, for 59p more, it was a very small piece. Paneer was also an extra 50 p. Food was incredible though so we weren’t mad about it. Would recommend if you like Indian food and are not traveling on a tight budget.
