Doc's Smokehouse - Edwardsville

Lunch was good today. Had the 2 record combination. Brisket and chicken. Great smoke taste with some good sauces. Next time, I'll get the Bourbon baby cheesecake.

We go three or more times a month. The pig steaks are great and the burgers are great! I think the bride is our favorite. The sides are good to especially the baked beans they actually have pieces of brisket in them. I recommend this restaurant!

So glad they added the pork steak to the menu! Excellent!

BBQ RETURNS TO E-VILLE!. After Red'z Rib Shack came and went a couple of times and after the sad departure of Bully's BBQ, I am happy to announce that authentic BBQ is once again an option in Edwardsville. Doc's just opened a couple of weeks ago and they seem to be off to a great start. They are tucked away in the corner of the strip mall with Shangri La, Wang Gang, Nori, Los Tres Amigos and Brevan's. The menu is fairly simple: Burgers, pulled pork, chicken, sausage and a few other items and the standard sides. They have indicated the menu will be updated in the next couple of weeks. I had the pulled pork plate with fries and cole slaw. The pork was a nice helping of very moist, very tender, very lean, slightly smokey pork that was delicious. There are 3 sauces on the table as well, and I rated them as follows: 1) Hot and spicy; 2) Memphis Red; 3) Sweet and smokey. The fries were lightly seasoned, cooked perfectly and were nice and hot. The slaw was creamy and good, but the portion was pretty small. With a soft drink, the whole meal was under $12. I definitely liked it and will be back again. I've been back 4-5 times over the last several months and the food has been excellent every time. Last visit I had the pork steak and it was as good as any I've ever had--incredibly tender and a great price!

Quality affordable food! The nachos are my absolute favorite. All parts are huge, I always leave full and with remains. With the always changing specials, the menu is better and better.
