The Canadian Brewhouse (fort Mcmurray)

We only went to this restaurant because we had a gift certificate. It turned out to be the worst donair I've ever had—dry, burnt, and lacking in meat. Even a gas station donair would have more meat than this one. The mac and cheese was also disappointing; it had no spice, very little flavor, and was quite dry. The poutine was just mediocre. I certainly won’t be trying anything else at the brewhouse, but I guess you can't expect much from CBH.

The ambiance was fantastic, and the food was outstanding. We sampled the brisket poutine and ribeye steak. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the brisket poutine was incredibly tasty. The staff has always been friendly and polite.

I'm planning to start a YouTube channel soon where I’ll document my visits and share my experiences with the service and setting, so viewers can draw their own conclusions. For now, I rated the restaurant four stars based on the quick service, enjoyable atmosphere, and overall experience. If I were assessing just the food, I might have given it three stars, as the beef dip was a bit lackluster—too much bread and brisket that tasted more like dry roast beef, and it could have used some horseradish. However, it wasn't bad—just a little disappointing. I'm definitely open to returning for a different dish. My friend, on the other hand, really enjoyed his stir fry.

However, there are some drawbacks. Unfortunately, the service is lacking; it's only marginally acceptable and feels as cold as the beer itself. The food is also fairly average. The Olympic Stir-fry is overly sweet because of the excessive syrupy sauce. The Tots Supreme has promise and is decent, but it feels like they missed the chance to turn it into something truly exceptional. The Shepherd's Pie was a significant letdown. This visit may very well be my last, and to be honest, that’s somewhat of a relief. **Edit:** In response to the restaurant's reply, I emailed the provided address (which I had to correct because it was incorrect), but I haven't received a response yet. I'll update if I hear back.

I took my family to check out the new restaurant that just opened in our neighborhood, having been a loyal fan of the other brew house locations for quite some time. I was really looking forward to our visit. While the service was decent, unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations at all. The ribs and wings were overcooked, the flatbread was dry and tough, and the ground beef on the nachos—which we were charged $5 for—was barely there. We even had to send our meals back twice. I truly enjoy the brew house, especially since it’s so close to home, but sadly, I think I’ll need to visit other locations that I know will provide a better experience. I really hope they can sort these issues out soon.
