It was just about 1, so I'm guessing the majority of the lunch crowd had left. The seating was a combination of comfortable and large booths, and tables and chairs. Our server was great throughout the lunch to provide attentive service to bring us more napkins, and bring our food and appetizer out timely. We shared the calamari and there wasn't a lot there and way more dipping sauce that squid. The pulled pork sandwich was a big portion as it came with fries and coleslaw so I ate most of that and took half of my sandwich home. The taste wasn't the best I have had, but the pork was flavourful and tender. I like this Ricky's more than the other one in the West End as it doesn't seem so busy and less hustle and bustle and more relaxing. Would come back if I was in the mood for Ricky's.
A 12.43$ mandatory tip is disgusting, will never come back to the establishment. Food wasn't that great not really hot lukewarm at best.
The restaurant is located inside a hotel, so it can get busy during peak times. We visited in the afternoon. The interior is not very spacious, but the booths and windows are nice. The staff were friendly. They serve typical American dishes. The burger with salad was delicious. There is free parking available. Overall, we had no complaints.
I would like to give a big shout out to ROWENA who single-handedly managed the restaurant this morning despite being the only waitress and the hotel being fully booked for breakfast. She remained calm, maintained a pleasant attitude, and efficiently carried out her duties. The food was delicious as well, especially the eggs Benedict. I also want to thank Michelle, an employee at the adjacent Holiday Inn, who quickly came to assist with the tables after I informed her of the hectic situation. Together, these ladies ensured that everyone was taken care of with exceptional professionalism. Kudos to you both! You both deserve a raise.
The first time my party of four attempted to dine at this restaurant, we were promptly seated in a not-so-busy establishment. However, the service quickly deteriorated. We waited a considerable amount of time for a server to take our drink order, and after nearly 10 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave. As time is precious during a lunch break, we ended up at a nearby dim sum establishment where the service was much more efficient. Wanting to give this restaurant a second chance, we returned for a late lunch around 3 o'clock. Despite the lack of customers, the service was still subpar, with other tables also experiencing long wait times. Overhearing a conversation between a customer and the server about a lengthy wait for the bill, my companion and I decided to ask for our bill when we placed our order. The food took a while to arrive, and despite requesting drink refills multiple times, our requests went unnoticed. The food itself was mediocre and greasy. After two unsatisfactory experiences, we will not be returning.
