Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria - Edmonton

The restaurant offers a great selection of vegan options including a vegan base, vegan cheese, and vegan pepperoni. I tried the plant-based deluxe pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. I wished it had a bit more spice, so I added some chili flakes. I would definitely order it again! For dessert, they always have at least 2 flavors of sorbet to choose from.

Creating your own pizza at Famoso is a fantastic option for vegans! You can choose from red sauce, Daiya cheese, and a variety of vegetable toppings. I especially enjoy the authentic Neapolitan crust. Just be cautious of the caramelized onions, as they are cooked with butter.

I appreciate that they offer a vegan option, but I personally find Diaya cheese to taste like plastic. I think it would be an improvement if they used a different vegan cheese.

There are several Famoso locations around Edmonton. The staff are generally knowledgeable and really good about helping out with vegan options. The big draw with Famoso is that they have vegan Daiya cheese on offer, and also have more exotic toppings like artichoke hearts and kalamata olives. My favorite is the Primavera pizza. For lunch, the small pizza special with the napoli salad is very good. There are also a few flavors of gelato that are dairy-free too.
