Found this place walking distance from my hotel, fish and chips ok nothing to write home about. Portions small.
I order the one piece halibut which is the most expensive one piece only fish on the menu @ $17 My spouse orders the turbot meal with fries.
This was my first visit to the south side location. I ordered take out and in a word...no. The chips were cold and hard like they had been waiting to be packaged. There wasn't even any of the famous grease on the paper wrappers they...are using. The fish was just ok. The fish itself was not hot but the batter was warm to the touch. Not really sure how that works but suffice it to say i will not visit this location again. Quit a lot of money spent in the family pack to be as disapointed as i was
It was an early evening dinner date and we were craving a feed of fish and chips. It has been several years since we last visited Brits and we certainly won't be back. The restaurant needs a good cleaning and update. We ordered at the counter as instructed and got our own drinks and sat at a window table. Clam chowder arrived shortly after. The soup was bland and only a few clams could be found. It really could have been any chowder as it was missing any seafood taste and even with a substantial sprinkling of salt and pepper was just so so. Canned soup would have been better. Next to arrive was The Works which is two pieces of cod, 2 pieces of haddock. 2 fries, 1 onion rings and two sides. (We choose the coleslaw and gravy) The pieces of fish were a good size but the batter was tasteless and greasy. Fries were a soggy mess and the onion rings also greasy and flavorless. The best thing on the plate was what certainly is a brown gravy from a package. It was a huge disappointment and we won't be back and will look for someplace else to quench our craving.
