Calcutta Chinese - Edison

We ordered take out for the first time. The food taste ok, but the portion is not worth for the money. We order Chinese food all the time with other restaurants. So we thought it will be similar. But no. We didn’t order lunch special, but the regular big dish size, however, we paid for regular dish price for lunch special amount of food. That is how disappointed we are. Not coming back for it.

We tried this place several times. Each time we hoped it would get better… but it didn’t. Small portions of mostly boring tastes. And what’s with a Chinese takeout place that serves chicken, beef, shrimp but NO PORK??? So you cater to 2% of your potential customers the other 98% can move along? Brilliant.

I've always loved their food and overall the people working there are very kind. However, this time around I found a bee in my veg manchurian.

We tried this place for the first time today. Unfortunately they don't have sit in so had to do take out. I had very high expectations of it after reading all the reviews and was hoping the real indo-chinese but I was disappointed. The hot and sour soup was not good at all. There was no ginger in any of the food so not sure how it could be indo Chinese. The garlic noodles was the best out of bunch. Schwan rice was ok. Paneer chili was basically green chillies with paneer in soya sauce. I wasn't too happy with the quality of food. It's edible but not too my expectations.

The Hot n Sour soup is out of the world! The best I have had in NJ!! I ordred it 3 days in a row! The lady at the counter is extemely nice I mentioned that I loved the soup and that I had tried their noodles too but would have liked it a little more well done For others the Noodles would have been amazing too but I have unique taste buds! So to make a happy customer she ended up giving me complimentary soup one of the days! I found that gesture extemely heart warming where they do their best to ensure 1000% customer satisfaction! I will be a loyal customer for life!
