On the lonely side of things, the potstickers were more wrapper than filling, only no delicate emptying... The Chicken Chow mine had very little chicken, and even less of an Asian flavor profile. And. I fought with the Mongolian beef, as it was loaded with yellow onions and green peppers, with a moderate sauce. A little better was the chicken of General Tsao, which had a nice sweet taste, but quite different from the delicious garlic flavors that are usually combined with this dish. The sweet and sour pig was fine, but the bread was thick, somehow like the outside of a corn dog. No products in this court. The shrimp in lobster sauce was the best dish of the heap, as the shrimps were large and tenderly cooked, with snow bears, water chestnuts. Palm hearts, celery and Bok Choy. Overall, China Palace is perfect for Chinese in a pinch, but is a lot of a 3 star Chinese restorer. I'm not sure if they have changed their flavors to meet the expectations of Idahoans, but the flavors are not from China (been to PRC > 20 times on business), nor on par with most decent Chinese restorers I've eaten in New York, Oregon, or California over the years. On the plus side I found the management and staff to be friendly and helpful. ps. We have now eaten at 5 or 6 Chinese restorers in the Boise area, and not one of them makes me again for more... This is a shame because I really love great Chinese cuisine.
The food was mediocre at best. Orange chicken was hard, rice was boiled, missed to bring out our appetizers and where are the noodles in the chow mean? the best experience was the server, big guy
High quality food and helpful staff. They had the first crabs rangoons I had with big crabs in them. I also recommend pork and sweet and sour chicken.
The food is practically flavorless. We ordered sesame chicken. It came as one carton of fried chicken thighs breaded and sliced into strips and one carton of saucy veggies. It was nothing like the spicy and sweet sesame chicken you get at any other Chinese food restaurant across the country. When we opened the cartons we thought we must have received the wrong order and called to confirm that is was indeed the correct order but just not what was expected. The amount of rice included is also very tiny compared to the chicken. And packed so tight into the tiny container it has turned gummy. We also ordered potstickers and they were lacking in flavor.
Excellent restaurant, Dine-in or Take-out!! Great service and food is the best in Idaho!
