The dining experience was fantastic. The portion sizes were generous, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The pastrami sandwich was particularly delicious.

Juicy tender meat, but way out of balance. This meat is cooked to fall apart perfection, but i wouldn’t have know it was pastrami if they hadn’t said so. This sandwich is waaaaay out of balance and the primary flavor profile is fat. The bun has been “toasted” (ie fried) in clarified butter, or possibly in rendered beef fat, and the tiny bit of pickle and dill, can be seen, but barely tasted.Each element here is tasty by itself, but for $13.50 sandwich, it hits a single note only (over and over) and could be better composed.

Everything is delicious and made with care and thoughtfulness.

The artisanal community in Durham just got a huge boost from these guys at Old North. The house paté is an absolute delight. And the rest of the charcuterie selection is equally fantastic. This is a must visit in the Bull city.
