Au Bon Pain - Durham

I ate here four times last week as I was on campus for intense classes. The grilled cheese with bacon was really good. The breakfast sandwiches (I had bacon, egg and cheese on Asiago one day and another on sesame of another day) were really good. Many seats. The staff were nice and helpful.

Great freshly baked goods, especially their croissants (yummy! . They also have good sandwiches. The only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 is because of the soup. The soup looks to have been sitting in the self serve vat for a while and doesn't look as if it's been replaced by freshly made soup in a timely manner. I haven't tasted it, it may be really good, but the looks of the soup options are off putting so I pass in getting any. The customer service is a bit lacking, I must say. Other than that, it's a good place to eat and they have a really nice variety of homemade and unique snacks. The rice crispy treats are so good!

Like the ham and cheese breakfast croissant. Not bad for a chain.
