Seikaku Sushi Steak - Dunedin

First time here, sat at the bar, and enjoyed it very much! Very small but quaint restaurant where you are able to talk to the sushi chef and cooks all at once! Took a pic of the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which was filling in itself, forgot to take pics of the amazing sushi rolls! We will definitely return!

This place is awesome! The fish is always fresh and they use a variety of ingredients to come up with some very unique rolls. I’ve tried a few other sushi restaurants in the area but they are not up this standard. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu other than the sushi rolls but that will be next.

First time here and I will definitely be a repeat customer! After living in the area for a year and repeatedly being disappointed the the areas sushi offerings finding Seikaku is a game changer! Don’t let the exterior fool you, this hole in the wall sushi is fantastic. I enjoyed the Mandas roll and the Tuna deluxe roll, I would highly recommend.

Great little spot. Small and cozy. Sushi is always tasty and I love the seaweed salad. Make a reservation! Trust me.

I walked in with my mother today around 7pm. It was not crowded, and very calming. The owner actually held the door for us on the way in. I am in no way familiar with sushi, and I explained this to the owner. He asked about a 'chef 's special style ' meal and I accepted upon his recomondation. My mother was a bit more familiar and he offered her his recommendation (after being asked) as well. Hers is the smaller portions in the attached photos. Both of our portions were more than enough (A LOT MORE THAN ENOUGH) and we got out with a surprising-ly economically friendly check. I will recommend this to everyone I can and honestly say that I will be making the 45 minute trip (passing Grille One9 and many competitors) often. If you 're on the fence, this is the place to go. You will not regret it.
