Michelin Star quality at reasonable prices. Bar menu superb quality too and lower prices than the restaurant
We came to this restaurant with high hopes for the food, but unfortunately left feeling disappointed. The new owners do not seem to match the quality of the previous ones. For dinner, one of the canapes was supposed to be Tomato Gazpacho, but it was simply a shot glass of tomato juice. The "hand dived" scallops were small and defrosted, served on mashed potatoes with a slightly spicy tomato sauce. The fillet of beef was overcooked and lacked the promised truffle or carrot accompaniments. The overall quality of the meal felt like homecooked food, and definitely not worth the price of £45 for 2 courses. We had planned to order a £15 pudding, but decided against it due to the disappointing meal so far. The rooms were comfortable, although showing signs of wear. While there is no draft beer or lager available, the restaurant is situated in a beautiful setting.
We have had a wonderful meal. We’ll balanced, interesting and full of flavour. A memorable experience
During our two-night stay at the hotel, we had originally planned to dine out one evening and eat in the other. However, after trying Ian's appetizers, we quickly changed our plans. The entire meal was beautifully presented and expertly cooked, with the vegetables sourced from their impressive kitchen garden. This restaurant is a hidden gem.
