ROCCA IM GEHRY'S - Düsseldorf

My husband and I were looking for one "fancy" restaurant for our last night in town. We quickly realized that this was an upscale, trendy restaurant. We were seated outside very quickly, even though the place was packed. Our server was excellent, giving us wine suggestions and laughing with us. She had a consistent smile even though she was very obviously swamped. The food was perfectly prepared and the wait was short. The only drawback was out of Rocca's control: they allow smoking outside, and it seems MANY people enjoy a good smoke after their meal.

Great option for dinner (casual or business) in Dusseldorf, good selection of meats/beef and wines from different parts of the world. Cool place and great atmosphere.

The good is how beautiful this restaurant is - clearly very chic, hip and design. I have not quite seen such an amazing setting. On the other hand, the service is very average (very slow even without a full house) and somewhat catine style. All in all, worth one visit - probably having a drink would be enough to have the experience.

The location is absolutely amazing. I really liked the whole set-up. The food was great, even though I expected a little bit more from my 60€ steak. The location is nothing for cheap-pockets. All in all I had a good experience and on the next business trip I might take my clients there once more.
